User Data & Information
Implementing the KW-GARD™ RF Suit is straightforward and easy. The evaluation data that has been taken on the performance of KW-GARD has enabled Euclid to specify the following RF environments with respect to the FCC Guidelines.
Notice that the Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) levels are adjusted for two distinct scenarios - use with and without the RF headgear. Using KW-GARD within these parameters will assure total compliance with these guidelines. For more information about the nature of potential RF Exposures and scenarios, go here.
Configuration <500 MHz 500MHz - 1 GHz 1 - 2 GHz
Coverall Only 15X MPE 5X MPE Hood Required
Coverall+Hood 20X MPE 20X MPE 20X MPE

As with ANY safety product, there are precautions to be taken while in the RF environment in which you are working. Therefore...

WARNING!!!

THE CARDINAL RULE: KNOW YOUR FIELD!!! Before using KW-GARD, consult with the site manager or Safety Officer to determine the RF field environment! NO RF suit can be used properly without FIRST having a well-formed idea of the field intensities you will be in!
Remember that High-Intensity fields can be dangerous! As observed in standard operating RF work procedures, under NO circumstances or conditions is it recommended to touch, handle, or come into contact with active, energized conductors. In the case of AM operations, follow the general rules of practice and do NOT touch the tower structure unless you are insulated from ground potential!!
While implementing work procedures, care should be taken with the carrying of metallic structures or lengths of cable, as these types of items could resonate and become "passive radiators" in the RF fields.
For full compliance to the FCC Guidelines, KW-GARD socks and gloves must be worn while working in environments below 300 MHz. This is for protection against induced currents.

The data on KW-GARD™ that has been provided are based on tests believed to be reliable. Any application not indicated herein or not sanctioned by Euclid Garment Mfg. Co., or Maxwell RF Radiation Safety should be thoroughly tested such that satisfactory performance can be independently concluded before commercialization. Proper use of KW-GARD™ is the sole responsibility of the user, as neither Euclid or Maxwell can control the conditions under which it is used.
